Man Oh Man

It's been so long since I've blogged! Honestly....I haven't missed it. I don't have enough complete sentences in my head so how am I supposed to get them written down! Last night I got over 8 hours of sleep so I'm feeling a little more spunky today :)

The Trobough's have been keeping busy lately. I keep the girls entertained at the gym, playdate, MOPS, church, and various outings around town just to stay out of the house. Tantrums from the girls and mental breakdowns on my part tend to happen the most when we are at home, so for now, I am choosing to stay busy :)

Chris is busy at work. Long hours but at least he has a job and he enjoys it!
WC still LOVES MDO at Fairborn First Baptist. Her and Natalie go on Wednesday's from 9:30-2:30 and it's the best five hours. Ever.
Natalie is walking like crazy and has almost mastered a slow run :) She has to keep up with WC!
I somehow got pregnant. Seriously I have no clue how it happened. HA! We were told by doctors that I wouldn't be able to have any more kids since Chris's chemo and WHAM! I get pregnant with T3. We were expecting it, but oh how blessed we are! So here's my Christmas present from Chris since we couldn't fit 3 carseats in the Mariner:

It was such an awesome surprise!

I may spend most of my days cleaning up explosive poop, pee accidents, and breaking up cat fights, but my Loves are my life!!!! Aren't they just the cutest?  :)

Go Bulldogs!

It's that time of year again!!! Our family loves this time of year. College football has begun and we're going to be busy every Saturday for a long time :) It's a fun thing that we all enjoy! We're looking forward to a great year watching the Bulldogs win victory after victory (or hoping at least)!!!

"I think I'll go for a walk outside hey. The Summer sun's calling my name!"

Well spring sun anyways.....today we had SUCH nice weather. Kind of weird for February....I feel like the weather is playing a huge joke on me and we're about to get our last snow storm of the year. I'm not going to think about it though....playing outside in long sleeves was so much fun. WC really needed to get outside. After being cooped up since November, we were all going a little crazy!

We enjoyed a nice walk then went down the street to let WC play with the kids who were playing soccer. That was all fun and games until she was hit in the face with the soccer ball. That's just what happens when you play with older kids! Natalie did so well today. She just sat in the stroller looking up at the trees totally content to just be awake!!

What we need is a routine!

I've never been a big fan of routines....especially one for WC. She was the kind of baby that refused any kind of schedule or routine so I just let her routine be led by her. That is what was the least stressful. No however, this little girl needs some structure in her life. Chris and I brainstormed on ways to teach her what comes next in her day and we need her to become "un-addicted" to TV. She has watched a lot of TV lately since Natalie has been born...mainly because I have been one tired momma.

Here is what Chris and I have come up with:

She is going to move the picture of herself from picture to picture. We are hoping that this helps with her ALWAYS wanting TV and ALWAYS wanting a snack.

We shall see :)

Sugar and spice and everything that's nice!

Yesterday the Hoopes girls came to play to give mommy and daddy a break. I have blogged about these two precious girls before, and had to do it again :) Savannah who is four ("Vee-nah", says WC) and Adeline who is two ("Aye-line") are WC's bestest buddies. They get along so well....for the most part :) WC just bosses Adeline around and then beats up on Savannah, who will take up for herself :)  We had "school" together where the two little ones made a square collage and Savannah practiced her fine motor skills with some string. I made pizza for lunch and then all girls went down for a nap! I was very happy that all little girls in the house were sleeping :) So much fun was had by all and to top it off, Ashley and Keith brought over a yummy dinner and I made blueberry cobbler from Pioneer Woman.

Fingerpainting

I recently introduced WC to fingerpaint. YES...FINGERPAINT!! And she loves it. I love it that she likes getting messy :) She was not afraid to dive on in and paint "pee-tee" pictures for momma!

I am ecstatic that WC enjoys craft/art time. I'm a crafty momma so this pleases me!

Happy Friday!

I was taking random pictures this afternoon and was able to capture WC and Natalie at their best. I say best because I snapped a picture that describes them lately :) Enjoy!

Christmas Eve

Whitley Claire helped me make our Christmas sugar cookies this year! She got her first dose of cookie batter and I think she's addicted like her daddy! I'm not sure if she was ready to help this year because she had tantrum after tantrum when I put the cookies in the oven. She couldn't grasp the concept that they had to COOK first :) Silly little girl.
 Natalie and her daddy :)

Whitley was SOOOO proud of her new dress given to her by some friends. She wore this to the Christmas Eve service at Church and I have never seen her like an outfit so much. She was twirling and laughing and such a delight to be around!

Natalie all dressed up and ready for church. Just hanging out....what she does best :) Her bloomers were so cute. They have her name on them!

When we got home from church I had all these "traditions" planned for our first Christmas as a family (without being around other family). Whitley was such a hot mess at church that she fell asleep in the car and I put her STRAIGHT to bed. I think I expected to much of her....I mean come one mom! She's only two! I shouldn't have gotten caught up in all the tradition stuff. That's not what really matters anyway. Yes it's fun, but it's not the reason for Christmas! I totally lost my focus on what we were celebrating!

Chris and I wound up just hanging out and watching a Christmas Story. I am embarrassed to say that it was my first time seeing it. OOPS!

Christmas morning post to come :)

Oh Christmas Tree!

Whitley Claire is so proud of the ornaments on the tree. This year she got to make a hand print ornament! She also hung Natalie's ornament on the tree for her! Such a good big sister :)

Having fun with Uncle Dave

My AWESOME brother has been in town for almost a week. He flew in this past Sunday during the snow storm and almost didn't make it in!

He has been such a great help with the girls too....or maybe that could be just me stepping in as bossy big sister again :) Whitley has loved bossing him around but he's stepped up as the Uncle and put her in her place a few times. Whitley calls him "Dayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy" and LOVES to play with him.

Dave leaves tomorrow :( So sad....I won't have my handy dandy helper with me! It's been nice having him around!

Adjusting to life as a mom of two!

So this is WC's new favorite place to play....In our guest bathroom sink! Which is also her bathroom. It took me a while to catch her in the act, but one day I snuck around the corner and saw how this little monkey gets in the sink! She stands on the toilet, puts her feet on the toilet paper roll, then climbs on in! She loves to brush her teeth and this is what she does while she has her "quiet" time in the bathroom. I try and keep the bathroom door closed because I'm not sure she knows how to get out.....

Momma's Makeup

Whitley Claire's favorite new toy is my makeup bag. She goes absolutely berserk when she sees that leopard print bag. I'll unzip it for her and in a matter of seconds, the whole bag is dumped out :) A few of her favorites in the bag is the mirror, blush brush, foundation sponge, and eyeliner. I hate to break it to her, but she won't be wearing makeup for a looooooooong time!

HGTV is the best medicine

I miss my house in Cabot soooo much! I hope that the renters are treating it nicely :) Isn't it an awesome house! Here it is to the left during a rare "snow storm" in Cabot!

Since we are living in "base housing" here, we can't really do a whole lot and I've been watching HGTV a lot this week because I haven't been feeling well. I would love to just go wild with this place. Put up crown molding, bead board, and some other thing....I think I am brainwashed by this channel. Whenever I watch these design shows, I have all this inspiration....then when it actually comes to painting a room, I just go with my comfort colors: green and brown. You can never go wrong with these! Our living room is brown and so is WC's. Our bedroom, downstairs bath, and sunroom are green. Those are such soothing colors to us! I would love to do something different, but we are so textbook and afraid. And I wish all this decorating stuff was free.....it can get really expensive! Our goal when we first moved to Dayton was to put together a room once a month. That way we don't go overboard and stick with a budget. For the most part :)That's our bedroom here in Dayton...we've added some pictures above the bed and on the far right wall. I LOVE this room. So calming!

What are your favorite colors and designs? My new favorite pallet is lavender, silver, and black. I love those colors together!

Oh Microwave, Oh Microwave....

Where hast though been?? In case you didn't know, we've been a microwave free house since we moved to Dayton last Thanksgiving. For the past year, we've had to adjust to reheating and cooking everything in the oven or on the stove. It hasn't been too bad, you just have to plan ahead of time when you want to eat leftovers or anything!

Our sweet friends, the Hollen's, are moving to Atlanta next week and I just happened to mention at small group that we didn't have a microwave and Amy offered us theirs!! How nice right?? So a BIG thanks to them for letting us have their super clean microwave. So why you might ask would we want one now...when we've gone over a year without one? Well, I should say why would I want one because Chris nixed the idea. It was just a little difficult timing when WC would want to eat and then working around that and the oven to warm up her meals. She doesn't want to wait 15 minutes for her food, so she would fill up on cheerios or graham crackers and then not eat what I fixed her. Tonight she had warm broccoli and cheese soup and she ate a very generous portion!

Woo hoo for my new microwave :)

Rib Dinner

Whitley Claire had the most fun today eating ribs! Well, I don't know if you would actually call it "eating". She liked sucking on the bone to get all the flavor off of it. Kind of like a dog, ya know? She also enjoyed the Saffron rice I served with it. She was just making the cutest noises when she was eating. If it comes from our plate, she'll love it!
We also played with Ally Pike and Lu Sterling. Ally lives up the street and is 9 days younger than WC. I watch her on Friday mornings so her mom can take her brother, Cam, to Kindermusic. They are very cute to watch!! I just happened to watch Lu, my little neighbor, so his momma could go to the doctor! He had his "bink" over here and WC was wondering if that was HER passie! She was grabbing for it!
My mom and dad are coming on Sunday! They will be staying a few days and we are really looking forward to their visit!!

Swing Time!

Whitley Claire's new favorite thing to do is swing. There is this nice little swing set just up the hill from our house. Just wanted to share some pictures! The other baby is Ally Pike, WC's best baby friend, and her brother, Cam. They are always fun to play with!
